Top Internet Marketing Business Start-up Killer

It is natural to want to share exciting news with every one, even if they don’t share your enthusiasm. The bad part is, it can back fire and leave you feel silly or discouraged. After all YOU are the one feeling the excitement not THEM.When I first came across Google Adsense I and realized the massive potential of making money through this program, I called a meeting at my office with the co-Directors of the offline company I own. I made a presentation on Adsense and how the company could set up a site and make loads of money from it. The result was a series of discouragements, as they did not share the same passion I had for the program - I could not get them to fork out just below USD100 to run some of the online marketing initiates for promoting our site. I do not blame them but myself though - it was not within the company’s strategy to do this at the time.

Furthermore, I could not wait to share it wit my friends over the weekend, I just kept going and going. You see I have a way with words, so people tell me and I really made this sound interesting. Soon after that I started receiving calls and emails from them asking me this and that concerning IM. I had to become a tutor at the very beginning when I was still trying to come to get with the program myself.

I remember a case where I recommended “Instant Buzz” to a colleague. I told him he could use it to get exposed into the Internet marketing world as most of the ads that are flighted there are Internet marketing focused. He kept calling me telling me how the software was slowing down his computer and how he had picked up viruses as a result. I realized from there that I was not ready for this. I still had my own problems to sort out - like uploading a site on to a server and all the jazz and could not offer some technical assistance to a program I didn’t even know much about.

So to cut a long story short, all I am saying is,

Broadcasting your Internet marketing business to every one who cares to listen is the leading IM business killer amongst other killers I mention in the blog.

- Stop talking about your dream while it is being conceived people will make you abort it. This applies to any dream that you might have in life. Talking too much about your ideas can cause you to lose them - you will have them stolen by people who have the resources to do it earlier and faster than you.

- They will spice it up and you may lose focus: you still need to know exactly what to do. This is why it is important to find the right mentor.

- They will discourage you: people are generally negative and if you let them in to your big plans, they will make you feel like you are crazy.

- I now prefer to keep my niche sites a secret even from my friends to avoid fraudulent clicks. They may either click to help me make money or click to sabotage or even set up their own to compete with mine.
Ask yourself whether you are doing this for fame and show or are doing it to start generating real income in order to better your life. If it is for show, then I can guarantee that you will not be able to endure the challenges that come with this Internet business; you will not have the patience that is often needed before you get a break through. You will get embarrassed as months pass by and unable to explain why you are not getting any richer. Eventually you might be tempted to quit and maybe try the next best thing - like the stock exchange, again just for show.

Rather write down everything about your business. Have a journal to write your new experiences and discoveries. Put dates and be clear in your writing so you may understand this later on. After a while you could turn the notes into a highly valuable ebook that you could sell to other beginners like your friends and colleagues and make a lot of money from it.

Alternatively, do what I did, set up a blog and share your experience as you go. Do not set the blog up to make money but do it merely to pour out your thoughts. Do not think about the readers just yet or else you will feel intimidated and self-conscious but just make it personal like your own diary. In time the content will start attracting loyal readers and when the time is right you will monetize.
